About the Role
LCS Defense is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our classified hardware development team. The ideal candidate will lead mechanical and thermal design efforts for a cutting-edge network security appliance.
Requirements
Primary Duties:
· Design and validate thermal solutions for high-performance computing hardware
· Develop mechanical layouts for chassis and PCB integration
· Conduct thermal simulations and analyze results
· Collaborate with electrical and FPGA engineers in a classified environment
· Support TEMPEST compliance efforts through mechanical design
· Oversee prototype development and testing
Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
· 7+ years experience in thermal design for high-performance computing
· Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
· Experience with thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, FloTHERM)
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work in classified environments
· Current TS//SCI clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with FPGA-based systems
· Experience implementing cooling solutions for lidless packages
· Familiarity with datacenter appliances and racks
