About the Role
LCS Defense is seeking a cleared Network Engineer to support mission-critical DoD and Intelligence Community programs. The candidate will design, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain secure enterprise WAN/LAN infrastructures in classified environments. This role requires hands-on expertise with Cisco, F5, network encryption devices, and enterprise monitoring tools.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, and troubleshoot enterprise WAN and LAN infrastructures in classified environments
Support daily operations of large-scale DoD networks ensuring high availability and performance
Configure and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching platforms including Nexus and ASR series
Maintain and support network encryption devices (TACLANE)
Administer and troubleshoot F5 load balancing solutions (VIPRION, Big-IP, Big-IQ, iSeries, Virtual Editions)
Monitor and analyze network performance using SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold, and related tools
Support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure using Cisco and Brocade switches
Maintain 802.1X authentication and network access control using Cisco ISE and NAC
Support RedSeal network modeling and security posture analysis
Perform configuration audits, compliance checks, and troubleshooting in accordance with DoD standards
Provide on-site support at Fort Meade and other government facilities as required required
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret / CI Polygraph clearance (required at time of hire)
Minimum 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
Strong experience supporting DoD or IC mission environments
Hands-on experience with:
Cisco Nexus (5K/7K/9K) and Catalyst switching platforms
Cisco ASR and ISR routing platforms
TACLANE network encryption devices
F5 load balancers and traffic management solutions
Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, WhatsUp Gold)
Experience with secure WAN optimization technologies (Cisco, Riverbed)
Strong troubleshooting skills across complex enterprise networks
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Fort Meade–based programs
Familiarity with InfoBlox, HP NA, and NNM
Experience with RedSeal network modeling
Experience supporting compliance-driven environments (STIGs, audits)
Education
Associate degree or higher in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field
Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Certifications
Cisco CCNP / CCNP Enterprise (required or strongly preferred)
Cisco CCDP / Cisco Certified Specialist – Enterprise
F5 certifications preferred
